Carry
Me
by Cliff Coon
My
Lord, you know I've lost my way,
I cannot see, it's hard to pray,
I wear a shroud of agony,
Please carry me, O carry me.
Each
day I wander in a maze,
A labyrinth of dead-end ways,
A map of dread uncertainty,
Please carry me, O carry me.
Convinced
I am an afterthought,
An accident, with troubles fraught;
I question whether I should be,
Please carry me, O carry me.
My
God, I long to understand
Your ways, Your paths; Lord, take my hand,
And lead me through this mystery,
Please carry me, O carry me.
O blessed Savior, hear my cry,
I cannot live, but fear to die,
Each day brings grief and misery,
Please carry me, O carry me.
O Shepherd, draw me close to You,
With rod and staff, help me be true.
And if I want to wander free,
Please carry me, O carry me.
