Work: Facing Life's Hard Work
Being Faithful—whatever happens
Entrusting our lives to the sovereignty
of God is a lifelong process and no easy task. Kari discusses
how our invisible mysterious God shines His glory through
our faithfulness. The book of Job shows us how a man determined
to live out what he believed was not afraid or ashamed to
wonder as we do, When life is unfair, is God still good?
Better or Bitter?
Betrayal, rejection, and abandonment
shatter a woman’s worth. Verbal and emotional abuse bruises
the spirit, crushes our heart, and can render us helpless.
Let’s talk about these taboo topics and our dark side—the
unresolved anger that can escalate into bitterness or revenge—then
look at what forgiveness is and is not.
Good Grief!
Living means you risk losing. During
losses like death, divorce, chronic disease, or disability,
sadness does a job. This presentation discusses the
hard work of heartwork and how the cultural slogans we
are taught and the spiritual cliches we’re told often get
in the way of our healing.
Life is What It Is
This session examines how unrealistic
and unrealized expectations weigh us down, stress us out,
and keep us stuck. We
discover the timeless wisdom of King Solomon, a man with
everything, who realized that his possessions meant nothing
and life was meaningless without God.

Letting Go Without Giving Up
Women are the keepers of memories, traditions,
and treasures. Letting go is against our nature. Just look
at our closets! This
session discusses our struggle to physically cart off past
possessions and to emotionally disengage from a relationship
without losing ourselves in the process.

Asking: What Does God Want to Do In
My Life
. . . three months, six months, a year,
five years from now. This
talk explores what it means to align our sight with the God-who-sees
and then, to take the next step. Let’s
look at women and men in the Bible who lived with vision
and explore how vision enhances our own resiliency.
