Kari West is an author, sought-after speaker and spirited gardener. She draws from a deep well of seasoned faith and experiential wisdom—surviving unwanted divorce, being a single working mom, and reconciling with health issues.
Responding to the needs of people affected by life’s losses, she authored two books, When He Leaves: Help and Hope for Hurting Wives and Dare to Trust, Dare to Hope Again: Living With Losses of the Heart. Her words have appeared in national, international, and online publications; greeting card copy; audio tapes for the blind; and anthologies, including the New York Times best-selling series Chicken Soup for the Soul.
Kari is a popular media guest who has appeared on radio and television in the U.S. and Canada. She served as facilitator for DivorceCare and as editor of a monthly women’s ministries newsletter. A member of the Advanced Writers and Speakers Association, she teaches workshops at local and national writers’ conferences.
The mother of a grown daughter and a grandmother, Kari resides in Northern California with her husband and a Labrador Retriever named Bella.
